During lifetime, we go through many changes assuming an end and a new beginning (new activity, new home, new way, new lifestyle, new role, etc.). All these exciting changes pull us out of our comfort zone, and sometimes not really finishing something before moving to a new beginning, means there is a possibility that we fail in the new beginning.

Moving to a new country by oneself can mean stress, loneliness and the implicit request to adapt to a different culture than ours. Maybe there is a need to prepare strategies to cover up for lack of friends, or lifestyle you were used to, till acculturation happens and you see the new country as your home.

Changing status from employee to manager means parking some abilities which were useful in the old role and focusing on developing new ones needed by the new role. As a manager you might want to develop people management skills (managing conflict, hiring, evaluating, training, firing), relational skills with peers and higher management while managing operational performance.

Changing status from single to moving in with your loved one, means one needs to adapt his lifestyle and take into account the needs of another person.

Any change can be prepared upfront. One way of doing it is via coaching. We could explore together any transition type. Jamboard is an online systemic coaching tool, and there are others which can be used in a face-to-face session.

Hereby is an example of a possible online session where a transition to a manager role is explored: existing skills today, skills to be developed, needs or fears but also support to find resources and build a customized development plan. Myself as a coach will be supporting you to identify and map the important elements of your transition, address the unfinished business or fears and walk with you as you develop new skills, behaviors, experiences and move on into your new role. Successfully.
